Position Overview:

The Area Supervisor - Housekeeping is responsible for overseeing and managing housekeeping operations across three hotels in the Amsterdam area. This role requires a strong leader who can ensure high standards of cleanliness, manage housekeeping staff, and coordinate with hotel management to meet the operational needs of each property. The Area Supervisor will focus on maintaining quality control, optimizing processes, and ensuring a positive guest experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervision & Leadership:

  • Oversee daily housekeeping operations across three hotels, ensuring all areas are cleaned to the highest standards.
  • Lead, train, and develop housekeeping teams at each location, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Conduct regular meetings with housekeeping staff to address concerns, share updates, and provide feedback.

Quality Control:

  • Conduct routine inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house to ensure cleanliness and adherence to brand standards.
  • Address and resolve any issues related to cleanliness or housekeeping services promptly.
  • Implement quality assurance processes and monitor performance through regular audits.

Staff Management:

  • Manage staffing levels to meet the operational needs of each hotel, including scheduling, shift management, and task assignments.
  • Handle recruitment, onboarding, and training of new housekeeping staff.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, health and safety regulations, and company policies.

Operational Efficiency:

  • Optimize housekeeping procedures to improve efficiency and reduce costs without compromising quality.
  • Coordinate with the hotel's management teams to align housekeeping services with occupancy levels and special events.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels for cleaning supplies, linens, and equipment across all three hotels.

Guest Satisfaction:

  • Work closely with hotel management to address guest feedback related to housekeeping and ensure a high level of guest satisfaction.
  • Implement initiatives to enhance the guest experience through superior housekeeping services.

Reporting & Communication:

  • Prepare and submit regular reports on housekeeping operations, including staffing, inventory, and performance metrics.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with hotel managers, ensuring alignment on operational goals and standards.
  • Escalate any significant issues to the Regional Housekeeping Manager as needed.

Qualifications And Skills:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in Hospitality Management or related field is a plus.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in housekeeping management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role, preferably within the hospitality industry.
  • Experience managing multiple locations or properties is highly desirable.

Skills:

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with staff and guests professionally.
  • Proficiency in using housekeeping management systems and software.
