The cleaning industry plays a part in nearly every aspect of our lives. Think about it whether you’re doing your weekly shop, going out for a bite to eat, hitting the gym, attending a hospital appointment or working on a project in your office; I guarantee that a cleaner has been there or is on their way to make sure the environment you are in is cared for.
I see our CCS teams as an invisible cleaning army. They start early or work late to minimise the impact their work has on our day. They’re completely dedicated to ensuring our environments are clean, safe and healthy. You may have never stopped to consider the impact cleaning teams have on our days, but without their hard work, the world would be a much more unpleasant place.
The cleaning profession has moved into a new space over the years with new cleaning technologies and methods becoming imperative to delivering a best in class cleaning service. The skills and knowledge that our front-line staff need to meet our clients’ needs are extensive. Therefore at CCS, we focus on what matters to us all as a collective.
Our recruitment processes are sound. All our people undergo a face to face interview and references are checked. Before a new team member starts their journey with CCS, they’re vetted by our recruitment team. Our CCS HR teams inspect their legal right to work and check previous references. All documentation is stored on our secure cloud-based HR system. Now operating in 9 countries we take no chances with our immigration processes and all our recruitment experts are trained in identifying fraudulent documents.
Our cleaning teams care about their work. They are committed to keeping the environments they work in safe and healthy. However, even the most dedicated cleaning team member needs continuous training and support. At CCS we invest in our cleaning teams and focus on preparing our people to be the best they can be. We provide extensive training for all of our teams and encourage them to reach their full potential.
Prior to a recruit joining our teams, they commence the CCS training program. Training is conducted through a series of in-house video tutorials including Induction and Environmental Health and Safety training offered in 7 different languages. Their understanding is assessed when they sit an exam and their results are stored automatically on our secured HR System.
Afterwards, the hands-on operational training commences where they learn machinery, equipment and cleaning methods skills and knowledge.
Teams are assessed through our performance-based system every six months. The system is structured in a way that offers support and additional training if required. For staff who go above and beyond, they are recognized through our CCS awards programme.
We’re proud of and committed to our cleaning team. Some of our most senior members once started out with CCS as cleaning operatives. We believe in nurturing talent and giving people the opportunity to progress. I along with my fellow directors all started out cleaning operatives. This gave us a real grounding in our business and a deep understanding of our client’s needs.
Whether it be school, college or work the average person spends a lot of time indoors. That’s why it’s so important to make sure these environments are healthy places to be. At CCS we’re focused on using chemical-free cleaning products that improve our air quality, making our buildings much healthier places to be.
CCS place a huge focus on health and safety and colour coding so that cross-contamination never happens. CCS’ systems of work focus on you and your health.
We only have one planet and believe that everyone should play their part in caring for it. At CCS we’re doing so by moving to chemical-free cleaning, reducing plastics, our carbon footprint, paper usage and recycling whenever possible. Our commitment to our planet can be tracked through our 2019/2020 CSR plan. We’re proud that our targets have been met on time every time. We believe that cleaning plays a major part in changing the direction of the future and have taken steps to work in a sustainable and environmentally conscious way. CCS believes in setting a good example and are always looking for ways we can improve even further!
